An essential lifeline for over 45 years.

Founded in 1980 the Bremerton Foodline has grown from an all-volunteer emergency food operation into a comprehensive distribution hub serving Kitsap and North Mason counties.

Food Security For All

To provide food assistance and other services to reduce hunger and improve self-sufficiency in our community.

One Community. One Goal.

To enrich the lives of our neighbors in need — building a Kitsap County where no one goes hungry.

Equity

Everyone deserves access to nutritious food regardless of background, income, or circumstance. We serve all who come through our doors.

Diversity

We celebrate the richness of our community. Our services, staff, and volunteers reflect the diverse population we proudly serve.

Compassion

We treat every visitor with dignity and respect. No judgment, no barriers — just neighbors helping neighbors.

From a small warehouse to a community hub.

1980

Founded by a Coalition

A coalition of churches, social service agencies, and individuals came together to establish Bremerton Foodline as an all-volunteer operation providing emergency food assistance and referrals.

2000

Purchased 12th Street Property

In 2000, Bremerton Foodline purchased its nearly 12,000-square-foot facility on 12th Street—complete with loading docks—a milestone that transformed the organization’s future. This expansion created the capacity needed for significant growth and enabled a shift in how support was delivered to the community. With the new space and infrastructure, Bremerton Foodline was able to organically evolve into a vital redistribution hub, strengthening its impact and broadening its reach to better serve those in need.

2001

USDA Commodities Distributor

A major milestone — Bremerton Foodline became an official USDA Commodities distributor, significantly expanding our capacity to serve the region.

2023

Creating a New Space

In 2023, we began construction to create warm, welcoming spaces that support a more dignified approach to serving our clients. This transformation includes ADA-accessible upgrades, a grocery store–style food bank experience, and discreet, private areas where on-site partner agencies can provide case management services.

Today

A Community Pillar

Today, we stand as a pillar in the community, delivering 15 programs and convening the Bremerton Nourishing Network to bring organizations together in coordinated support. In 2025, we served 3,855 unduplicated households and 11,358 unduplicated individuals. As of May 1, 2026, we have already reached 2,468 households and 7,605 individuals—clear evidence that the need continues to rise. Even so, we remain steadfast in our mission, sustained by the strength of our partnerships both within our community and beyond.
